  • ★★★★★ Directed by Kelly Stewart, this is a phenomenal comedy that rivals Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Blackadder in sheer comedic joy.

    - Theatre & Tonic on GAWAIN & THE GREEN KNIGHT at The Park Theatre, London (2025)

  • Kelly Ann Stewart’s direction is fantastic. She creatively brings the more fantastical elements to life with skill and humour. Some moments of magic and mystery are genuinely exciting and impressive, while others are delivered with a wry, self-aware sense of humour. Many elements of the story are clearly very challenging to depict onstage, such as Gawain’s horse, but Stewart’s direction always finds a way to do it, usually to great comic effect.

    - Elaine Page, (BBC Radio 2) on A CHRISTMAS CAROL (2024)

  • However, the idea of what a hero really is, is best explained by this fantastic piece of theatre so rather than let me tell you, please, please, please get yourself a ticket before the end of the run

    — Deborah Heath, St Albans Times on GAWAIN & THE GREEN KNIGHT at The Roman Theatre of Verulamium (2024)

  • This show has a really tight cast and has clearly been directed with a real love for the original text ... [I]t hammered home some problematic social issues, was extremely well performed and was re-set in the modern era successfully. The pound of flesh scene was handled so well that there was complete terrified silence in the audience. The character realisation was superb, and this had clearly been well explored in rehearsal. Once again, a thoughtful OVO re-working of a classic tale under a very strong director.

Deborah Heath, St Albans Times on THE MERCHANT OF VENICE (2024)

  • The eight-strong cast are all as good in their roles as you would expect from OVO and they richly deserved the standing ovation they received at the end of Thursday’s performance.

    - Madeleine Burton, Herts Advertiser on THE MERCHANT OF VENICE (2024)

  • ★★★★★ A brilliantly comical play, with some unsettling undertones. The team at OVO have managed to bring together a whole lot of fun with the darker side of human emotion, presented by a stellar cast, in a glorious setting.
